Host susceptibility mechanism & drug development
Our lab studies how a host is susceptible to bacterial infection at the molecular level and develops pathogen-directed and host directed therapeutics against bacterial pathogens. Our pathogen of interest is Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which is an ESKAPE pathogen that frequently “escapes” antimicrobial drugs and is one of the most common causes of health care-associated infections worldwide.
We employ combinatorial approaches in our studies, including:
